Since joining the team at Symes de Silva in 2007, I have been fortunate enough to work in a team environment focused on providing excellent service to each individual before, during and after treatment. For many people visiting the dentist is not a preferred, pastime so I get powerful job satisfaction when I see the transformation that occurs when an individual make a positive step towards better oral health and returns some time after treatment a different person - more confident, smiling and radiating wellbeing. This is particularly so with families - with supportive parents, getting kids on board early can make visiting us fun and set them up for a lifetime enjoying great oral health.
These views have been shaped by my experiences in various environments - University in Melbourne, work in rural Australia, hospitals and in Germany. I enjoy the fact that new developments in knowledge are constantly challenging us to improve - who know what sort of dentistry I'll be doing in twenty years time!
Away from dentistry, I am passionate about music, especially playing the clarinet. However, if you don't see me doing dentistry or playing music, you may catch me running around some hills or taking on the outdoors some other way...
